How
much will it cost to move my vehicle?
Prices
will vary based on several factors like,
distance, time of year, population density
of origin and destination, size of vehicle,
and many others.
Call us at 800-348-6210 to get your
custom transport rate. The least expensive time of year to move a vehicle is in the
winter.
Most people will move to a new
location in the spring and summer.
Many carriers will fill their trucks
up and you will be charged a premium during
these times while at the same time get poor
service. At TVC prices will rise somewhat in the summer, but you will
get the same great service year round.
How
do I pay for my move?
We
accept Master Card, VISA and American
Express or Discover.
You can pay for your move up front,
or you can pay a small deposit and pay COD
for the rest when the driver picks up your
vehicle from you, or drops it off.
Is
my deposit refundable?
Yes,
if we are unable to get your vehicle
assigned to a truck within 15 days, we will
cancel your move and refund your deposit in
full.
Beware!
Some companies will take a deposit
from you and will never give you a refund,
even if they are never able to move your
vehicle.
I have heard countless stories of
people who paid a deposit and after months
of waiting, their car never moved and they
never got their deposit back.
Is
my vehicle insured while being transported?
Yes.
The US Department of Transportation
requires all carriers to insure your vehicle
up to $50,000.
Each of our drivers must provide us
with a copy of their current insurance
policy before we will dispatch any vehicle
to them.
Beware!
Some of our competitors will charge you
extra for “Valuation Coverage.”
Their Bill of Laiding will be written
such that you are agreeing that they will
not cover any damage to your vehicle unless
you pay extra for their “Valuation
Coverage.”
This is just their way of bilking
more money out of you.
Read the fine print and ask lots of
questions.
The oldest and most reputable vehicle
transport companies are among those who will
use this trick to separate you from your
money.
Can
I track my vehicle while it is in transit?
Yes,
you can call your vehicle relocation
specialist and he/she will find out where
your vehicle is at in the process.
Beware!
many of our competitors will advertise that
they have real time satellite tracking.
Many people fall for this, only to
find out that the “Satellite Tracking”
is only on some of their carriers, or that
there is no satellite tracking at all.
A quick trip to www.epinions.com
will reveal that even the biggest and most
established vehicle transport companies will
use this trick to get your business.
At
TVC we believe that an informed customer is
a happy customer.
We will always be upfront with you
and we will strive to sell you what we can
deliver, and nothing more.
Do
you ship cars and tucks?
Yes,
we specialize in passenger vehicles, both
cars and trucks.
Do
you ship motorcycles?
Yes.
We ship motorcycles all over the united
states.
Can
I put household and personal items in my
vehicle to be shipped?
The
Department of Transportation allows you to
put up to 100lbs of personal items in the
trunk of your vehicle while it is being
transported.
You will want to make sure that you
do not put breakables in your vehicle, and
you will want to make sure that your
belongings are secured so they do not move
around during shipment.
If
you are moving a truck, you MAY NOT put any
personal belongings in the bed of the truck.
This will cause a safety hazard.
Please
keep in mind that items must be in the trunk
or some other secured area where they cannot
be seen.
We are not responsible for personal
items that are stolen or broken while in
transit.
Do not have any items in the vehicle
that will in ANY WAY block the field of
vision for the transport driver while he is
loading or unloading your vehicle from the
vehicle transport.
How
much gas should I have in the vehicle?
You
must have between ¼ and ½ tank of gas in
the vehicle prior to shipment.
The transport driver will need to
drive the car while loading and unloading
the vehicle transport.
If your vehicle does not have
sufficient fuel for loading and unloading,
you may be charged an extra fuel fee.
Will
anyone drive my vehicle while it is in
transit?
Only
the transport driver will be driving your
vehicle while it is in transit, and that
will only be for the purpose of loading and
unloading your vehicle from the vehicle transport.
What
if my vehicle breaks down while in transit?
You
should make sure that your vehicle is in
good working order before transit.
If your vehicle breaks down during
transit, you may be charged an additional
fee for inoperable vehicles.
Do
you move vehicles that do not run?
Yes
we do.
Obviously it is more difficult to
load and unload a vehicle that does not run,
do there is an additional charge for this
service.
What
happens if there is an accident and my
vehicle is damaged?
Any
insurance that you have on the vehicle will
be considered primary insurance in the event
of damage. In addition to your insurance, we require all our drivers to
carry cargo insurance that will cover damage
to your vehicle up to $50,000.
In
the event that there is damage to your
vehicle, we will provide you with the
contact information and insurance
information for the carrier so that you can
get your claim resolved as quickly as
possible.
